  • [es-pree de less-ka/-iay] (idiom) A witty remark that occurs to you too late, literally on the way down the stairs. The Oxford Dictionary of Quotations defines esprit de l'escalier as, "An untranslatable phrase, the meaning of which is that one only thinks on one's way downstairs of the smart retort one might have made in the drawing room."

The always vaguely alien Posh Spice

lol, Claire. That is *such* a great way to describe her.

Should have also said...

I'll try to pop in with my usual, meaningless, "Hey everyone! Bye!" comment. It's just too hard to live blog running up and down the stairs like I have to do. And, like I told Jennifer, I like the show too much to miss a lot of it, which is what happens when I'm running the stairs.

My prediction? I think Christian will take it. But, there's this little creeping suspicion I have about Jillian. She's more conservative*, and if you'll pardon the pun? More buttoned-up than Christian and that might work for her.

*Not conservative in a Tom Delay way. Heh. He's just so much more outrageous in his designs than she is. She's good though, I think. But, is she *fierce*?

Only time will tell.

Sorry about the open tag.

I was too concerned with my pun!

Blue, you are cracking me up!
